A pályázat témája: "Sarkvidéki Horizont"
The theme of the open-call: “Arctic Horizon”
The Arctic region is one of the most fascinating and complex topics of our time.
On one hand, we witness the impact of climate change on its landscapes, flora, and fauna.
On the other, the shifting geography of the Arctic has profound effects on international relations, shipping, mineral resources, and global geopolitical competition.
As melting sea ice opens new routes and territories, it brings both opportunity and potential conflict.
Beyond the geopolitical and environmental perspectives, the Arctic also carries deeply human stories – those of indigenous communities, their traditions, and their fragile coexistence with a changing world. These transformations and human stories open up new perspectives – not only in science and politics, but also in the arts – and together they redraw the horizon from which we view the world.
Arctic Horizon invites artists to explore these overlapping narratives of transformation – between nature and humanity, isolation and connection, stability and change. The theme further explores the connection between travel and art within the Kepesita project, while also reflecting on its ties to Norway.
